Green - George - 1919

Source: Crawfordsville Review 20 May 1919 p 1

Alamo, May 19 – George Green, 70 years old, dropped dead here this morning in the Etter store where he had gone to buy some medicine.  He had jokingly remarked before coming to town that he would have to get some medicine for his cough or else would have to get the coroner to sit on the case.  Within two hours after this remark the coroner was called to determine the cause of his death.  Mr. Green had been working at the home of Clarence Smith, 3 ½ miles south of alamo. He leaves a brother, James Green of Lafayette. The body was taken to the John Shuler undertaking establishment at Waynetown and short services will be held at the grave tomorrow at 10:30 o’clock at the Alamo cemetery. - kbz
